Keep Your Farmers Market Vibrant:
PLEASE Volunteer this Season!

Opening Day for the 2014 ABFM is just weeks away (June 15!) and we are working hard to be ready for our sixth season. You may be surprised to learn that the market operates entirely through a devoted corps of volunteers: a Leadership Board, a couple of market managers, and setup and breakdown volunteers. Through a series of life events (mainly moves and babies) we find our management capacity severely diminished this season. In truth, for some time we have needed more help to operate the market, assist with behind-the-scenes work and, ideally, expand our event and educational offerings.

If you love coming to market; if you count on us for fresh, local foods; if you want to see the ABFM stay strong, please help. We now need a handful of “junior market managers” to be on site from 8:30am–1:30pm for a few market days this coming season. Managing the market and staffing the ABFM table are fun and not hard (there is a little learning curve, but you would be trained “on the job” ), and they are great ways to plug into the community and support the ABFM. We can virtually guarantee you’ll enjoy it!

If you can commit to a few shifts this season, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@abfarmersmarket.org. We also welcome volunteers to take turns helping our reliable ABRHS students set up and break down the market each week.

Without new energy this season we may risk "making toast" of our Leadership Board, and putting the viability of the ABFM at risk. Please help; thank you!

The ABFM Operates on People Power

The ABFM exists because of our terrific vendors; the support of local businesses, organizations, and individual contributors; the help of the Town of Acton and Town staff; and the hard work of volunteers. We need your time and expertise to make this effort not only about buying good food and supporting local enterprises, but also about community vitality and shared learning.

Want to help? Hurray! Learn about becoming a business/organizational Supporter here; volunteer here; offer ideas or suggestions here; or just send a plain old donation to us at:
